DTC B0812: Courtesy Lights Battery Feed Circuit (Open): Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC B1802 is set, go to DTC B1802: COURTESY LIGHTS CIRCUIT (SHORT TO GROUND). If DTC B1802 is not set, go to next step.
  3. Check INADV POWER BUS fuse (15-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to step 6). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect BCM Natural 10-pin connector C3. Connect test light between BCM harness connector C3, terminal "K" (Orange wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 7).
  5. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B0812 is set, go to step 8). If DTC B0812 is not set, go to step 9).
  6. Replace INADV POWER BUS fuse. Go to step 10).
  7. Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between BCM connector C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 10).
  8. Check for poor connection at BCM connector C3, terminal "K" (Orange wire). If connection is okay, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING  . Go to step 10).
  9. System is operating properly at this time. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS. After any repairs are made, go to next step.
  10. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If any DTCs are current, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . If no DTCs are current, system is operating properly.
