Lumbar Support In/Out Function Does Not Operate

  1. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check was not performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select memory seat module inputs. Move lumbar in/out switch in. If scan tool indicates switch action, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate switch action, go to step 6).
  3. With memory seat module inputs still selected, move lumbar in/out switch out. If scan tool indicates switch action, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate switch action, go to step 6).
  4. Disconnect lumbar in/out motor connector. Connect unpowered test light between lumbar in/out motor harness connector terminal "A" (Pink wire) and ground. Move lumbar in/out switch out. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
  5. Connect unpowered test light between lumbar in/out motor harness connector terminal "B" (Dark Blue wire) and ground. Move lumbar in/out switch in. If test light illuminates, go to step 7). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9).
  6. Replace left seat switch. Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace lumbar in/out motor. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS article. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  8. Repair open in Pink wire between lumbar in/out motor and MSM. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  9. Repair open in Dark Blue wire between lumbar in/out motor and MSM. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
