DTC B2802, RFA Link Circuit (Short To Ground): Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM 32-pin connector C1. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between battery voltage and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C15 (Black wire). If reading is 9-14 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 9-14 volts, go to step 4).
  3. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B2802 sets again, go to step 8). If DTC B2802 does not set again, system is operating properly.
  4. Disconnect RCDLR, located above right side of instrument cluster. Using DVOM, check resistance between ground and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C15 (Black wire). If resistance is infinite, go to step 6). If resistance is not infinite, go to next step.
  5. Repair short to ground in Black wire between BCM connector C1 and RCDLR. Go to step 7).
  6. Replace RCDLR. Go to step 7).
  7. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  8. Turn ignition off. Replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING. Go to step 7).
