DTC B1802, Courtesy Lights Circuit (Short To Ground): Notes

When BCM receives voltage from INADV POWER BUS fuse, it supplies voltage to all courtesy lights through circuit No. 1732 (Orange wire). DTC B1802 will set when BCM detects a short to ground in circuit No. 1732 (Orange wire) or is shorted to ground internally for more than 0.1 second. No driver warning message will be displayed.

DTC B1802 requires an ignition cycle to change from current to history. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC B1802 will also clear when conditions no longer exist or scan tool is used to clear codes.

NOTE: If DTC B1802 is a history code, problem may be intermittent. Wiggle wires while performing the following test.
NOTE: When ignition switch is turned to RUN position with BCM disconnected, PCM related DTC P1626 will be set. After BCM repair is completed, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Refer to menu below.
