NOTE:
Beginning at start of production for all 1996 models, 4L60-E transmissions were built with a NEW design manual valve and a NEW design valve body casting. New design improves exhaust path for low-reverse clutch fluid when selector lever is in Drive. It also improves low-reverse clutch durability. Manual valves and valve bodies for 1995 and 1996 models ARE NOT
interchangeable.
CAUTION:
Note valve body bolt length and location during removal procedure. Transmission case damage may occur if bolts are incorrectly installed.
