Engine Does Not Crank

  1. With fused jumper wire still installed, measure voltage at theft deterrent relay connector terminal No. 30 (Yellow wire) while attempting to start engine. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Yellow wire between theft deterrent relay and ignition switch.
  2. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage at starter terminal "S" (Yellow wire) while attempting to start engine. If battery voltage is present, problem is in starting system. See appropriate ALTERNATORS or STARTERS article in ELECTRICAL. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in Yellow wire between theft deterrent relay connector terminal No. 87 and starter solenoid terminal "S".
