Test U - Brake Fluid Level Switch

  1. Turn ignition off. Release parking brake. Disconnect master cylinder brake fluid level switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal "B" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch harness connector and ground. See Fig 1 . BRAKE warning light should come on. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire).
  3. Connect fused jumper wire between terminals "A" and "B" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch harness connector. BRAKE warning light should come on. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 1150 (Black wire).
  4. Connect fused jumper wire between terminals "B" and "C" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch harness connector. BRAKE warning light should come on with ignition switch in BULB TEST or START position. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 333 (Purple wire) and ignition switch. If BRAKE warning light functions properly, replace master cylinder reservoir.
  5. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and perform ABS/TCS functional check. See Figure .
