Entering On-Board Diagnostics

NOTE: Intermittent history codes do not illuminate Amber ANTI-LOCK warning light. DO NOT use ABS/TCS fault codes table for intermittent problems. See INTERMITTENTS  .
NOTE: Data Link Connector (DLC) may also be referred to as Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) connector.
  1. Connect Tech 1 scan tool to DLC. Connector is located under left side of instrument panel, right of steering column. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions to retrieve stored fault codes.
  2. If multiple codes are displayed, begin diagnosis with code that is displayed first. See ABS/TCS FAULT CODES  table. Diagnose all codes in the order displayed by Tech 1 scan tool.
  3. After repairs are complete, clear all codes. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions to clear stored fault codes.
