Switch Test

Calais, Grand Am & Somerset

1) Test circuit fuse by operating horn. If neither mirror

operates, check for battery voltage at center console outside mirror

switch by connecting a test light between Orange wire and ground. If

test light glows, connect test light between Orange wire and Black

wire. If the test light does not glow, check Orange and Black wire

circuits.

2) If left mirror does not operate, place mirror selector

switch in left mirror position. Connect test light to Yellow and Lt.

Green/Black terminals of outside mirror switch. Check the test light

glows when mirror control switch is in up and down position.

3) Connect test light to Lt. Blue and White/Black terminals

of outside mirror switch. Check that test light glows when mirror

control switch is in left and right positions. If test light glows

but mirror does not turn, check wiring and motor. If test light does

not glow when switches are in position to energize its terminals,

install a new outside mirror switch.

4) If right mirror does not operate, place mirror selector

switch in right mirror position. Connect test light to Yellow and Lt.

Green terminals of outside mirror switch. Check that test light glows

when mirror control switch is in up and down position.

5) Connect test light to Lt. Blue/Black and White terminals

of outside mirror switch. Check that the test light glows when mirror

control switch is in left and right position. If test light glows but

mirror does not turn, check wiring and motor. If test light does not

glow when switches are in position to energize its terminals, install

a new outside mirror switch.

If voltages are incorrect, replace mirror. If voltages are correct,

check wiring back to mirror adjuster control and mirror selector

switch.

Delta 88 & Toronado

1) Check circuit fuse by operating dome lights. Connect

a test light to ground and check for 12 volts at Orange wire. If

test light glows, connect the test light between Orange wire and

Black wire. If test light does not glow, check Orange and Black

wire circuits.

2) If a mirror does not operate, place mirror selector

switch in position to operate inoperative mirror. Connect test

light between Yellow and Lt. Green terminals of outside mirror

switch. Check that test light glows when mirror control switch

is in up and down positions.

3) Connect test light between Dark Blue (Lt. Blue on

Toronado) and White terminals of outside mirror switch. Check

that test light glows when mirror control switch is in left and

right positions.

4) If test light glows but mirror does not turn, check

wiring and motor. If test light does not glow when switches are

in position to energize its terminals, install new outside mirror

switch.

Fiero & 6000

1) Remove outside mirror switch from console, leave
