Injection Pump: Removal

Remove air cleaner. Remove crankcase ventilation filter and pipes from valve covers. Remove air crossover and install intake manifold screened covers.
On V6 engine, remove fuel lines and fuel pump. Disconnect throttle cable, T.V. cable, and throttle return spring.
On V8 engine, disconnect the throttle rod and return spring. If equipped with A/C, disconnect the rear compressor brace. On V8 remove Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve and fuel filter.
On all models, disconnect fuel return line at injection pump. Disconnect injection line clamps. Disconnect injection lines from pump. Cap all open lines. Remove pump retaining bolts/nuts.
Remove injection pump. Discard pump-to-adapter "O" ring. Remove MVS if pump is to be sent to authorized repair dealer.
