Oil Pump Installation: Installation
Oil relief valve before installation and tighten to specifications. Place straightedge across gears; clearance should be.0023 -.0058". If less, check timing chain cover for wear. Remove gears and pack gear pocket full of petroleum jelly. Reinstall gears, place gasket in position and tighten bolts to specifications.
NOTE:
Unless pump is packed with petroleum jelly, it may not prime itself when engine is started. Do not use chassis lube.
