32 00 601 Adjusting toe-in on front axle

NOTE: Before each toe adjustment, the electromechanical steering gear (EPS) must be commissioned (initialization)!

Attention! 

Changes in axle geometry caused by accidents must under no circumstances be rectified by camber adjustment!

NOTE: Camber and toe-in influence each other. The toe-in should be adjusted first to make the adjustment procedure simpler.
The camber can only be adjusted by exchanging the swivel bearing. There are also different swivel bearings (+/-30')!

Bring the wheels into the straight-ahead position or bring the steering wheel into the straight-ahead position and fix it with the steering wheel clamp.

Adjust toe-in: 

Clean thread on tie rod.

Slacken bolt (1).

Twist the tie rod (2) and if necessary counter support the tie rod end (3) in order to set the toe-in to the target value.

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 32 21 2AZ .

If necessary, correct installation position of bellows.
