Installing the complete exhaust system

CAUTION: Component with heavy weight  .
Injury hazard! 

• Note component's center of gravity.
• Support component using a jack.
• Secure component against falling off the jack.

CAUTION: Heavy component  .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage  .

• Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

• At the catalytic converter exhaust pipe (2), use a measuring tool for centering (1) 45 mm and then mark the area with a touch-up stick (if applicable, temperature resistant).

• Clean the exhaust pipe (1) of the catalytic converter with a wire brush.

• When reinstalling the same rear silencer: Clean the exhaust pipe (1) of the rear silencer with a wire brush.

• Slide the exhaust pipe of the rear silencer onto the exhaust pipe of the catalytic converter up to the mark (1).

• If necessary, replace clamp.

• Tighten clamp (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Exhaust system to catalytic converter
Ribbon cable clamp If necessary, replace clamp.	Tightening torque	33 Nm

• Check rubber mount for damage, replace if necessary.
• Tighten the screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Rubber mount on exhaust bracket
M8 screw	Tightening torque	13 Nm

• Tighten down screws (1).

• Mount the heat shields.
• Tighten down screws (1).
