84 10 820 Remove and install (replace) telematics control module (i3 base, i3s)

IMPORTANT:
Observe the INFORMATION ON PROTECTION FROM ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE

Comply with notes and instructions on HANDLING OPTICAL FIBER .
Preliminary work needed:
- Refer to DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT .
Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).
Unscrew nuts (2).
Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).
Unscrew nuts (2).
Remove telematics control module (3) in arrow direction.
Installation note:
Note color coding of connector.
NOTE:
When replacing the telematics control module check whether the faulty telematics control module is equipped with an EMERGENCY BATTERY :
- if no . then the new part is installed without an emergency battery !
- If yes , ten the new parts is to be equipped with a new emergency battery (separate order, telematics control module is shipped without an emergency battery!)
Replacement:
- Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/CODING .
