Remove right backrest side section
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Removing the backrest side section without side airbag
- Reach behind the backrest side section (1) from the top and unclip it forwards out of the mounting element (2).
- Feed out and remove the backrest side section (1) upwards out of the guide at the bottom.
Removing the backrest side section with side airbag

- Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Release the trim (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
- Reach behind the backrest side section (1) from the top and unclip it forwards out of the mounting element (2).
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Feed out the backrest side section (1) upwards out of the lower guide.
