12 14 705 Programming the control unit (DME/DDE) (X5 M)

Switch off ignition. 

Connect diagnostic system via an appropriate scan tool.

Switch the ignition on.

Select "Programming".

Follow the instructions in the diagnostic system.

Adjust the following control units: 

• EWS (electronic immobilizer)
• DME (Digital Motor Electronics) or
• DDE (Digital Diesel Electronics)
