Removal & Installation

  1. Remove driver's seat. See 52 13 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/MANUAL)
  2. Remove footwell side trim panel on A-Pillar on left. See 51 45 185 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY
  3. Raise floor trim panel (1). Move insulating wedge (2) approximately 8-10 cm forward. Remove cover (3). See Figure.
  4. Release screws (1). Unlock plug connection (2) and detach. See Fig 1.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure proper locking of plug connector. Tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. After replacing the rotation rate sensor, carry out an adjustment of the rotation rate sensor and the transversal acceleration sensor with Diagnosis and Information System (DIS) under the menu item "Service Functions".
