Removing the transfer case (VTG)

Preliminary work 

• Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
• Refer to REMOVING THE CONNECTING SUPPORT FROM THE TUNNEL .
• Refer to REMOVING EXHAUST SYSTEM .
• Refer to REMOVING THE TANK COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING THE LEFT THRUST FIELD .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR HEAT SHIELD .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT HEAT SHIELD .
• Refer to RELEASING THE TRANSMISSION BEARING SUPPORT .
• Refer to REMOVING TRANSMISSION CROSS-MEMBER .
• Refer to PARTIALLY LOOSENING THE PROP SHAFT .

• Unscrew the bolt (1) and disconnect the ground strap (2)

• Disconnect the connector (1) from the transfer case control unit in the arrow direction

• Release the threaded connection (arrows) of the transfer case (VTG)
• Tie up the front prop shaft to the underbody

  It is imperative to prevent damage to the surface coating!

• Carefully detach the transfer case (VTG)
