Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Hinge For Tailgate

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD CD (job number 41 62 043).

Removal: 

Open tailgate.

Secure tailgate against falling down with a second person.

Release screws (1) and (2).

Release screws (1) and remove hinge (2).

Detach GAS-FILLED SHOCK ABSORBER from hinge.

Installation: 

Install hinge (2) and tighten screws (1).

Tighten screws (1) and (2).

Mount GAS PRESSURE SPRING on hinge.

ADJUST  hinge together with tailgate.

Tighten all bolts to specified torque. Tightening torque 41 62 TAILGATE .
