Remove the BDC control unit
Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING FOOTWELL TRIM PANEL ON THE RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INNER DOOR SILL COVER STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SIDE TRIM PANEL IN THE FOOTWELL AT THE RIGHT-HAND A-PILLAR .

Ensure proper function after a repair
Ensure proper function after a repair
- Lines are allowed to have only one repair area.
- Notices in the diagnostic system circuit diagrams must be observed.
Refer to ADDITIONAL INFORMATION .
- When components are replaced, the notices in the applicable BMW parts catalogue must be observed.
- Fold the carpet (1) to the side.
- Release screw (2)
the cover (3)
.
- Loosen the detents (1) .
- Guide out cover (2)
in the arrow direction.
- Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1) .
- Swivel out BDC control unit (2)
slightly in the arrow direction.
- Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1)

- Guide out the BDC control unit (1)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector of the positive battery cable (3) on the BDC control unit (4) .
The following order must be maintained:
- Release lock (1) in the arrow direction.
- Release detent (2) at connector of positive battery cable (3) .
- Remove the connector of positive battery cable (3) in the arrow direction.
