Traffic jam assistant

This vehicle function is a combination of lateral and longitudinal guidance and is primarily used to relieve the strain on the driver in driving situations ranging from steady driving to traffic jams.

It increases the ride comfort by making driving in traffic a more relaxed experience.

The longitudinal guidance is performed in the same way as for ACC across the brake, engine and automatic transmission from 0 to 40 km/h (from 07/2014: up to 60 km/h). The transverse guidance adopts the electromechanical power steering (EPS) by making a corrective steering intervention.

The driving lane lines are monitored by the KAFAS camera in the interior mirror. Touch detection is integrated into the steering wheel.
