Tailgate/tailgate lock

When the tailgate opens, the luggage compartment lights are switched on by the rotary striker switch in the tailgate lock. The Body Domain Controller (BDC) also evaluates the change in status of the rotary striker switch for the switch over of the lighting functions between the rear lights.

Depending on the change in status of the rotary striker switch, specific lighting functions (depending on the prescribed local regulations) are transmitted by the 2 rear lights in the tailgate to the 2 rear lights in the rear apron as well.
