Dynamic stability control (DSC)
The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is an item of standard equipment.
The most important changes and innovations for the latest DSC (MK 100) generation are as follows:
- The tire pressure control is integrated into the DSC control unit as a function. A separate RDC control unit is therefore no longer required.
- The EMF is integrated into the DSC control unit as a function. A separate EMF control unit is therefore no longer required.
- Sections of the function logic that were previously calculated in the Integrated Chassis Management (ICM) have been integrated into the DSC control unit. As a result, it was possible to omit the ICM control unit, among other items.
- The function logic for activating the electrical vacuum pump is integrated into the DSC control unit.
- A digital brake pressure sensor is now integrated into the DSC control unit. There is no longer a need for any variants of the DSC control unit with 3 brake pressure sensors. Vehicles with active cruise control with Stop & Go function are equipped with special damping elements in the DSC hydraulic control unit.
- It is no longer necessary to carry out the bleeding procedure after replacing the DSC control unit.
- DSC control unit with reduced weight and reduced installation space.
The driving experience switch influences the operating principles of the DSC. Depending on the selected stage (NORMAL, SPORT+ identical to DTC), the threshold values and characteristics of the DSC interventions also have to be adapted.
