Test steps

  1. Connect a 100 A (or greater capacity) clip-on current measurement probe to the positive battery cable from the electrical machine electronics (DC/DC converter output) to the 12 V battery.

    Signal name: B+

I01 vehicles: Connect the clip-on current measurement probe to the positive battery cable in the vicinity of the electrical machine electronics  (DC/DC converter output).

I12 vehicles: the positive battery cable in the vicinity of the electrical machine electronics is not accessible. Instead, connect the clip-on current measurement probe to the positive battery cable in the vicinity of the 12 V battery.

  2. Connect the measuring cable to measure the DC/DC converter output voltage.

I01 vehicles: Use connections at the electrical machine electronics, signal name: Battery voltage, 31.

I12 vehicles: Measure the voltage at the safety battery terminal or the positive terminal of the 12 V battery to ground.

  3. Connect the clip-on current measurement probe to the Integrated Measurement Interface Box (IMIB) and if necessary, carry out adjustment.
  4. Prepare an oscilloscope measurement with IMIB.

    Time axis: 500 μs/DIV

    Channel 1: Clip-on current measurement probe input, scale 50 A/DIV or 20 A/DIV

Channel 2: Voltage measurement, DC coupling, scale 5 V/DIV

Trigger: Channel 1, initially leave "continuous" mode set

  5. Allow the vehicle to go to sleep:

The START-STOP button lighting must be off  . The high-voltage system must not  be de-energized. A charging cable must not  be connected.

  6. Channel 1 trigger signal, set threshold value 10 A, set "single shot" mode.

Target behavior: No current must flow when asleep, the trigger signal does not activate.

  7. switch on terminal 15

Target behavior: On waking the vehicle and switching on terminal 15, the DC/DC converter must activate and supply the 12 V vehicle electrical system.

DC/DC converter output current setpoint value: Greater than 10 A  , depending on switched on consumers, trigger signal activates.

DC/DC converter output voltage setpoint value: At least temporarily approx. 14 V
