11 24 571 Replacing all connecting rod bearing shells (W20)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release connecting rod bolts (2 and 3).

Remove connecting rod bearing cap (1).

Release connecting rod bolts (5 and 6).

Remove connecting rod bearing cap (4).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage  to cylinder wall and to crankshaft.
Gently release connecting rod from crankshaft.
Lift out crankshaft (1).

Installation note: 

Pay attention to guide lugs during installation.

Insert conrod bearing shells (1 and 2).

Connecting rod (1) bearing shell color brown  .

Connecting rod bearing cap (2) bearing shell color blue  .

Tighten all connecting rod bolts with special tool 00 9 120.

Tightening torque 11 24 1AZ .

Assemble engine.
