Headset and Central Information Display

The head unit receives the video signals via a CVBS line. The video signals are prepared with additional information (steering angle), in order to depict the parking assistance lines for example. The head unit supplies the central information display with the prepared video signals.

An APIX data cable (Automotive Pixel Link) serves to transmit the picture information from the head unit to the central information display.

APIX was developed especially for the demands by digital video mode in the vehicle. The data line meets the toughest demands with regard to EMC interference (EMC), among others. The data line can be used repeatedly in the vehicle. Here digital video signals are transmitted uncompressed with a bandwidth of up to 1 Gbit/s via a single pair of copper wires.

The head unit is also connected via Ethernet to the central gateway module and the rear seat entertainment system (= RSE). Reason: This enables the enhanced functions and high data loads to be transmitted at high speed and in high quality. The diagnostic socket is connected via Ethernet to the head unit.
