Vibration actuator

The control unit for camera-based driver assistance systems (KAFAS) requests activation of the vibration actuator via the PT-CAN. The central gateway module (ZGM) implements the signal on the FlexRay. The Integrated Chassis Management (ICM) and the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) are bus users on the FlexRay system. The ICM or DSC coordinates activation of the vibration actuator.

The junction box electronics (JBE) or the front electronic module (FEM) or the Body Domain Controller (BDC) issues the request signal via the LIN bus to the steering wheel module. The steering wheel electronics evaluate the request. The steering wheel electronics activate the vibration actuator and monitor its function. A fault of the vibration actuator or the steering wheel module is issued as a message via the LIN bus to the corresponding control units.

Vehicles with Front Electronic Module (FEM) or Body Domain Controller (BDC): The central gateway module (ZGM) is integrated as independent control unit in the Front Electronic Module (FEM) or Body Domain Controller (BDC).

The following illustration shows the vibration actuator with the F01 as an example.
