Range extender electrical machine electronics (REME)
NOTE:
For the REME, no repair work is permitted. The housing may not be opened under any circumstances. The REME loses its safety approval when opened.
The range extender electrical machine electronics (REME) mainly carries out the following functions:
- Contacting and control of the range extender electrical machine
- Power reduction due to high ambient temperature
- Contacting of high-voltage battery unit
- Evaluation of high-voltage interlock loop
- Evaluation of crash message
- Connections of coolant lines

The range extender electrical machine electronics is liquid-cooled and embedded in an individual low-temperature cooling circuit. Range extender digital engine electronics and range extender electrical machine are embedded in the same cooling circuit.
The REME-control unit is connected to the powertrain CAN and to the PT-CAN2. Moreover, the REME-control unit is supplied with the wake-up line and the terminal 30B.
A temperature sensor is integrated into the REME-control unit to measure the ambient temperature.
