Interior lighting: Notes

The interior lighting serves to illuminate the passenger compartment and includes the following areas:

Note! Depending on series, model, vehicle equipment and national-market version there may be differences in the equipment of the interior lighting! 

The following description does not go into detail regarding all possible equipment ranges of the interior lighting (depending on the series, model, vehicle equipment and national-market version).

The interior lighting on the front of the roof area are incorporated in a single assembly. Depending on the series and vehicle equipment the interior lighting in the rear roof area is either one unit or two units (left and right).

The surrounding area in front of the doors is additionally lit up by the ground lighting and the door entry lighting.

The interior lighting is centrally controlled by the Body Domain Controller (BDC).

Note! Depending on the series and vehicle equipment the process to activate the interior lighting differs! 

Example F15: Depending on the vehicle equipment, the Body Domain Controller (BDC) activates some lights of the interior lighting (e.g. lights for door pocket lighting, front footwell light) via the LIN bus. In this process, the LIN message provides the switching mode, brightness and color.
