Functional description
The Body Domain Controller (BDC) is the master control unit for the exterior lights. That means: All the lighting functions are controlled by the Body Domain Controller (BDC).
The Body Domain Controller (BDC) issues the command for activation of the lighting function in the form of a message transmitted on the CAN bus. The Body Domain Controller (BDC) issues the command for the stepper motor controlling the headlight range adjuster for transmission through the LIN bus.
The Frontal Light Electronics, left (FLEL), and the Frontal Light Electronics, right (FLER) respond to commands from the Body Domain Controller (BDC) by activating the requested lighting functions and the stepper motor.
