Maximum heating and cooling
The behavior for maximum heating and cooling adapted for vehicles with combustion engine so far was not integrated in vehicles with electric drive for reasons of energy saving.
Whenever the maximum nominal temperature of 28 °C is set on the control panel of the heating and air conditioning system of vehicles with combustion engine, the following will occur: maximum heater output, temperature control more or less deactivated.
The consequences are for example very high blow-out temperatures at the ventilation outlets. Moreover, the interior temperature is significantly over the maximum nominal temperature.
If the vehicle is equipped with electric drive, this behavior for maximum heating will no longer occur. Whenever the maximum nominal temperature is set, the heating and air conditioning system adjusts the interior temperature to a maximum of approx. 29 °C with the lowest energy consumption possible.
Whenever the minimum nominal temperature is set on the control panel of the heating and air conditioning system of vehicles with combustion engine, the following will occur: maximum cooling power, temperature control more or less deactivated.
If the vehicle is equipped with electric drive, this behavior will occur only when pushing the MAX button (for maximum cooling).
Whenever the minimum nominal temperature is set on the control panel of the heating and air conditioning system, the heating and air conditioning system adjusts the interior temperature to a minimum of approx. 16 °C with the lowest energy consumption possible.
Running-in the air conditioning compressor (electrical)
After replacement of an air conditioning compressor (electrical) or refilling the refrigerant circuit, the air conditioning compressor must be run in. Running-in is required to ensure lubrication (distribution of the refrigerant oil). Running in can only be carried out using the BMW diagnosis system.
Encoding the rain-light-solar-condensation sensor
Encoding of the rain-light-solar-condensation sensor is required after replacement of the windscreen or replacement of a rain-light-solar-condensation sensor.
