Wash/wipe switch

The rear wiper (wiping and washing) is operated via a rotary switch. This means that the control functions for the windscreen wiper and the rear wiper are separated.

NOTE: For the purposes of clarity, the US version features its own symbol on the wash/wipe switch.

The wash/wipe switch is operated by briefly moving the lever. The wiper switch does not lock into place. The wash/wipe switch signal is forwarded from the steering column switch cluster to the Body Domain Controller (BDC). The steering column switch cluster is connected via LIN bus to the Body Domain Controller (BDC). The axial button on the wash/wipe switch activates the automatic mode (automatic control via the rain-light-solar-condensation sensor). If the automatic mode is disabled, intermittent operation is controlled on a speed-dependent basis.
