13 62 531 Replacing coolant temperature sensor (N55)

Recycling
Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove ignition coil cover. See 12 00..... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING IGNITION COIL COVER (N55) .
NOTE:
Coolant temperature sensor is mounted on cylinder head at front.
Release connector (1) and remove.
Unfasten coolant temperature sensor (2).
Installation note:
Tightening torque: 13 62 5AZ .
If necessary, top up coolant. See 17 00 008 DRAINING AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (N20, N55, N52T, N47 D20 O 1, N57 D30 O/T 1, B47) .
Check COOLING SYSTEM for leaks.
NOTE:
Check stored fault messages.
Delete fault memory.
