Outer tailgate pushbutton
The front electronic module (FEM) is the master control unit. In other words, the front electronic module issues the enable for opening the tailgate.
When the tailgate button is pressed, the tailgate opens when the vehicle is unlocked and stationary. The exterior tailgate button is directly connected to the rear electronic module (REM).
When the tailgate button is pressed, the rear electronic module transmits the request to the front electronic module. If all the preconditions for unlocking are in place, the front electronic module issues the enable for opening the tailgate. For unlocking, the rear electronic module activates the DC motor of the release drive in the tailgate lock.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the tailgate opens due to spring force or electrically.
