NOTE:
With the launch of F23 (BMW 2 convertible) the 4th generation of Headunit High is introduced into the market. The alterations are described in a separate chapter.
The Headunit High (HU-H) is described below.
The HU-H control unit is used as a headunit. The Headunit High is the headunit in the MOST ring (for vehicles with MOST). Otherwise, the Headunit High is connected to the K-CAN (series-dependent, e.g. to K-CAN2 or K-CAN4).
The noticeable changes for the headunit high version are:
- Central Information Display connected via APIX data line (previously LVDS data line)
- Aerial diversity (aerial amplifier without aerial diversity; aerial diversity integrated in the headunit)
- Integrate of the following former control units as functions in the head unit:
- Digital tuner (DAB)
- Digital tuner US (IBOC)
- Satellite car radio (SDARS)
- Telephone function (CBX-MEDIA)
- WLAN and Bluetooth functionality (audio playback via WLAN)
- Control via the controller with the touchpad (country-dependent) for optimized character entry and navigation operation
- Three-dimensional control display (control center)
