Remove the BDC control unit

Preliminary work 

• Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
• Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
• Refer to REMOVING FOOTWELL TRIM PANEL ON THE RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT ENTRANCE COVER STRIP .
• Refer to REMOVING THE SIDE TRIM PANEL IN THE FOOTWELL AT THE RIGHT-HAND A-PILLAR .

• Fold the carpet (1) to the side.
• Release screw (2) the cover (3).

• Loosen the detents (1).
• Guide cover (2) out in arrow direction.

• Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1).
• Swivel the BDC control unit (2) slightly in the direction of the arrow.

• Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1).

• Guide out the BDC control unit (1).

• Unlock and disconnect the connector of the positive battery cable (3) on the BDC control unit (4).

It is essential to observe the sequence: 

1. Release lock (1) arrow direction.
2. Disengage the detent (2) on positive battery cable connector (3).
3. Remove the connector of the positive battery cable (3) in arrow direction.
