Active Sound Design (ASD) Does Not Function After PROGRAMING (SI B65 19 17)

ACTIVE SOUND DESIGN (ASD) DOES NOT FUNCTION AFTER PROGRAMING

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

SITUATION

The Active Sound Design (ASD) does not function after programming.

The following fault is stored in the ASD_10 memory:

• 0x8053A5 - Invalid coding data

CAUSE

Software error in the Active Sound Design (ASD) control unit

CORRECTION

Program the vehicle with ISTA 4.08.1 (I-level F020-17-11-520) or higher.

PROCEDURE

For conditions that are similar to the situation described:

1. Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA.
2. Program the vehicle using ISTA 4.08.1 (I-level F020-17-11-520) or higher.

Note that ISTA 4 will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply ( SI B04 23 10  ).
