- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

Component with heavy weight.

- Note component's center of gravity.
- Support component using a jack.
- Secure component against falling off the jack.

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Remove underbody protection (1).
- Unfasten clamp (1).
- Pull off the exhaust system from the diesel particulate filter.
- Remove screws (arrows).
- Remove reinforcement plate (1).
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Lower and remove the exhaust system (2) with the assistance of a second person.
