Failure of the component
In the event of a malfunction of the control panel for the rear air conditioner on the right, the following behavior is to be expected:
- Malfunction during operation:
- The current settings are retained.
If only the temperature selector wheel or the button for the manual variation of the amount of air or both malfunction, the respective current settings of the relevant components are retained.
If only the LED display malfunctions, the HKA control unit is no longer to activate the LEDs for the display of the selected amount of air.
- For the buttons and temperature selector wheel in the left and right control panel of the HKA no changes are shown.
- For the two roof air vent temperature sensors (left and right) the HKA control unit uses a substitute value.
- Fault entry in the HKA control unit
- The current settings are retained.
- Malfunction is determined upon start-up:
- The settings for the temperature selector wheels are indicated internally as invalid. The mixing flap drives and the air distribution flap motors are no longer activated. The flap motor thus remain in their respective parked position. The parked position is a definite position to which a flap motor is driven after the vehicle is stopped and after a specified waiting period (stored in the memory module of the HKA control unit). The flap motors are reinitialized to this parking position after starting up.
- The buttons for the manual variation of the amount of air are indicated internally as not pressed. The housing for the HKA thus remains off.
- For the two roof air vent temperature sensors (left and right) the HKA control unit uses a substitute value.
- Fault entry in the HKA control unit
