Teach in new key

1 Breakpoint of the key

For teaching-in the key hold the key at the steering column as per the graphic! 

The following options exist for teaching-in a new key: 

  1. Perform service module.
  2. Manual teach-in

The following activities must be performed in this connection:

  1. Remove all existing keys from the passenger compartment.
  2. Press the START-STOP button. The Check Control message "No remote key found" appears and then the request to hold the key at the ring aerial.
  3. Hold the new remote key going around at the ring aerial and then press the START-STOP button again. If nec. press the START-STOP button several times until the ignition can be switched on.
  4. Then perform a function check. i.e. lock/unlock the central locking system and them perform an engine start.
NOTE: If the remote key is a replacement for a lost, stolen or defective remote key, the old remote key still has to be blocked using the service function "Block/Release remote key". To use the Car/Key functions, the service function "Remote key, change personalization number" has to be run.
