LED main light module on the left (LHML) and LED main headlight module on the right (LHMR): Notes

The LED main light module is fitted on the underside of the LED headlight.

The LED main light module controls the following functions:

• Low-beam headlights
• Cornering light
• High-beam headlight
• Headlight flasher

The LED main light module also regulates the temperature control in the LED headlight. The values of several temperature sensors in the LED headlight, as well as the signals relating to driving speed and ambient temperature communicated via K-CAN3, serve as input signals.

The fans are controlled depending on requirements. After the lighting functions and terminal 15 are switched off an after-run of the fans until rest state of the LED main light module is possible to prevent the LED headlight from thawing.

In the event of a temperature sensor malfunction, the fans are switched on at full blast to protect the components in the LED headlight.
