Refrigerant shutoff valve, front: Notes
The front refrigerant shutoff valve closes off the pressure line to the evaporator of the integrated automatic heating and air conditioning system (IHKA).
The front refrigerant shutoff valve is used in the following vehicles:
- Vehicles with rear air conditioner
The rear air conditioner (HKA) is connected to the refrigerant circuit of the integrated automatic heating/air conditioning system (IHKA) and is supplied from the same A/C compressor.
The two refrigerant circuits are separated by 2 refrigerant shutoff valves (front and rear) which are only fitted together with the rear air conditioner.
- ActiveHybrid vehicles
The high-voltage battery needs cooling as excess heat is generated while emitting or receiving power.
To this end the high-voltage battery is connected to the refrigerant circuit of the heating and air conditioning system and is supplied by the same A/C compressor (electrical).
The two refrigerant circuits are separated via the front refrigerant shutoff valve and the refrigerant shutoff valve for the high-voltage battery.
