Failure of the component
If the front refrigerant shutoff valve fails, the following behavior is to be expected:
- Vehicles with rear air conditioner
- Fault entry in the HKA control unit
- Refrigerant circuit to the front evaporator of the heating and air conditioning system blocked
- ActiveHybrid vehicles
- Fault code entry in the electrical machine electronics (EME)
- Refrigerant circuit to the front evaporator of the heating and air conditioning system blocked
General notes
If a rear air conditioner (HKA) is installed, the integrated automatic heating and air conditioning system (IHKA) must be encoded to "HKA is installed". Reason: The IHKA control unit is the master, the HKA control unit is a slave. Otherwise the built-in refrigerant shutoff valves (front and rear) remain closed and have no function.
