61 35 015 Removing and installing (replacing) control unit for Car Access System
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION) .
NOTE:
The comfort access system is a radio-based system and can be interfered with by radio waves from other systems (e.g. mobile phone).
Necessary preliminary work:
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Only disconnect E72 : both battery earth leads.
- Remove TRIM FOR PEDAL MECHANISM .
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unlock latch mechanism (2) and pull out control unit for Car Access System (3) in downward direction.
Replacement:
Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
Vehicles with auxiliary heater:
Initialize TELESTART HAND-HELD TRANSMITTER .
For vehicles with Rear-seat entertainment (RSE):
Teach in RSE master key via path:

- Rear seat entertainment system
- Teach in radio remote control
- Radio remote control
