Mounting of fan motor: Notes
Different solutions are available to mount the blower motor depending on the blower type used.
1-Series and 3-Series (E8x, E9x)
X5, X6 and X3 (F15 up to production date 02/2014, E7x, F25)
The blower motor is screwed to the engine mounting using mounting bolts.
- When checking the mounting of the blower motor in the engine mounting ensure it is positioned centrally and the mounting bolts are tightened.
- When installing the blower motor ensure it is positioned centrally and tighten the mounting bolts.

1-Series and 3-Series (F2x, F3x)
The blower motor is secured in the engine mounting by retaining lugs at the lid.
- When checking the mounting of the blower motor in the engine mounting ensure it is positioned centrally and the retaining lugs are locked in place.
- When removing the blower motor carefully slacken the retaining lugs.
- When installing the blower motor ensure the retaining lugs are locked into place correctly to guarantee central position of the blower motor in the engine mounting.

The blower motor is screwed into the engine holder.
- When checking the mounting of the blower motor in the engine mounting ensure it is positioned centrally and the mounting bolts are tightened.
- When installing the blower in the blower module ensure the separate components are positioned correctly.
