13 62 651 Remove and install or replace the monitoring sensor (N57 D30 O/T 1 with SCR)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Risk of burning!
Only perform this repair work on an engine that has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release cable from clips (1).

Release cable strap (2).

Unlock connector (3) and remove.

Release nitrogen oxide sensor (1), remove from exhaust system and lay to one side.

Tightening torque 13 62 11AZ .

Release the monitoring sensor (1) and remove.

Tightening torque 13 62 3AZ .

Installation note: 

Threads of new oxygen sensors are already coated with NEVER-SEEZ compound.

If an oxygen sensor is reused, only apply a thin and uniform coat of Never Seez Compound to thread.

Oxygen sensor section projecting into exhaust branch must not be cleaned or come into contact with lubricant.

Pay attention to cable routing of oxygen sensors.

Tightening torque 13 62 3AZ .

Cover oxygen sensors when applying underbody protection.

Installation note: 

Check stored error/fault messages.

Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
