Rear entertainment system: Notes
The rear seat entertainment system (RSE) is an optional extra (optional extra 6FF: "DVD system in the rear").
The rear seat entertainment system provides the following functions:
- Operation using remote control
- Playing CDs or DVDs via the DVD drive
- Confirmation for settings made on the rear seat entertainment system as well as display (CDs, DVDs, photos) on an 8- inch TFT color monitor (rear display)
- Audio playback over the loudspeakers of the vehicle or wired headphones
- Audio playback via headphones with infrared transfer
The infrared transmitter is installed at the rear display.
- Connection for external devices (e.g. video camera, gaming console)
- TV reception in the rear
With deployment of the headphones module as of 09/2007 and in conjunction with optional extra 601 "TV function" or optional extra 602 "On-board monitor with TV", TV reception in the rear is also possible.
The rear seat entertainment system is functionally independent of other entertainment sources available in the vehicle.
Via iDrive, the rear seat entertainment system can be enabled or blocked in the "Settings" menu.
