Fuel pressure and temperature sensor: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW X3, 2016 BMW X3, 2015 BMW X3, 2014 BMW X3, and 2013 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The fuel temperature and pressure are registered by a combined sensor housed in the fuel feed directly before the high pressure pump.

The fuel temperature sensor measures the fuel temperature before the high pressure pump. The fuel pressure and temperature sensor measures the pressure in the low pressure fuel system before the high pressure pump. The fuel pressure is used by the Digital Diesel Electronics (DDE) to activate the fuel pump in accordance with requirements. The sensor signals are also intended to calculate the fuel injection rate and protect the engine against overheating.
