SUBJECT
N63: Quality Control Monitoring After CCP
SITUATION
The complimentary Customer Care Package (SI B 11 06 14 , SI B 11 16 14 ) was designed exclusively for N63-equipped vehicles to ensure the highest levels of engine performance after its completion.
However, you may encounter a situation in isolated cases where an N63-equipped vehicle still exhibits unacceptable driveability behavior after completion of the CCP, such as:
- Rough idle
- Misfire faults with or without CEL
- Jerking/surges or combustion miss during heavy acceleration, or
- Bluish smoke coming from the exhaust on a cold start or after a hot soak
BMW NA Technical Service must be notified of such situations.
INFORMATION
If the vehicle exhibits any of the above driveability issues, perform the ISTA/D N63 Misfire Detection test plan. Please make sure the FASTA data is transmitted.
Submit a PuMA case titled "N63: Driveability after CCP." Follow the recommendations received.
