Fault Indication and Fault Storage
The Crash Safety Module has a non-volatile fault memory. The airbag warning lamp indicates any entry in the fault memory.
A distinction is made between internal and external faults when entering the fault code.
Events such as triggering of the airbag or seat belt pre-tensioner are also stored in the fault memory.
NOTE:
The entry of a triggered restraint system in the fault memory does necessarily mean that the system was defective in a crash situation, it only means that the restraint system is not available for further triggering.
